Last week family friend Heide reached out and asked if I could make some cookies for a bridal shower she’s hosting for her cousin. This was no ordinary request for a few reasons 1) she needs them for Saturday! (two days from now) and 2) she needs 50! (3 dozen is normally my max because let’s face it I’m really just a Program Manager and mom who dabbles in cookies in her free time. My hand is not strong enough to pipe more than 36 cookies in one sitting.
The wedding invitation was the inspiration for these cookies. The wedding will take place in Oklahoma in May and the invitation design has these sweet little canning jars with lights strung across them. I immediately knew I wanted to use my canning jar cookie cutter for these. To add a little something simple I tied jute twine around the actual cookie like you would a canning jar. For the hang tag I went a little fancy with a scalloped circle, a monogrammed stamp and then added some pale cream ribbon, white lace, and a row of bling. I’m so happy with how these turned out. Simple rustic chic is what I think of when I look at these cookies.
Congratulations to the bride!
