I am so excited that my children get to have their first classroom Halloween party. One of the activities for the party will be decorate your own cookie and guess what?!?!  They needed a volunteer to bring the cookies!  Can you believe it?  Oh pick me!  PICK ME!

Well, they didn’t actually pick me but rather cookies was the only sign up spot available when I finally got around to signing up.  But whatever, it was destiny and I was thrilled to be able to put my hobby to good use and whip up a couple of dozen ghosts and pumpkins for these little cookiers in the making.  I’m really struggling with the fact that the cookies were naked when they left my kitchen so I delivered them to the school 3 days early hoping that out of sight out of mind and I’ll forget all about them.  One Friday these cute ghosts and pumpkins will come to sugary life with globs of orange and purple frosting and piled high with jimmies and sprinkles.

Happy 6th Birthday M!

This is THE year when little M gets her OWN party!  Whoop whoop!  It’s kinda a big deal for this spunky 6 year old.  She told her mom (who happens to be my boss) that she wanted “the cookie lady” to whip up some crazy cookies to add to the favors.  I’m constantly baking cookies for anything I can think of which means I bring a lot of free cookies to work to get rid of.  I like to practice decorating.  I don’t need practice eating cookies.  Anyway, M chose her initial “M” and her age “6”. I used a few bright colors purple, lime, yellow, and pink to royal ice these sweet treats and then packaged them in a cellophane bag with curling ribbon and a simple thank you hang tag.

It takes a special person to teach 21 5 & 6 year olds so I wanted to be sure not to miss my children’s kindergarten teacher’s birthday earlier this month. My husband picked these apple cookie cutters as he felt apples for the teacher was fitting. Packaged in a perfect little box and tied with a ribbon these made a sweet little addition to her birthday gift from the children.
